Sleep Number Bed Owners–did It Take Awhile To Find Your Ideal Setting?
This was only my 2nd night sleeping on our sleep number bed and while it felt great when I got in and I fell asleep quickly and slept through the night, my back still felt a bit stiff in the morning ( though nothing like it used to). We had put a topper on our old mattress before we got this and it did seem to help some, so now we have the sleep number with a 3″ thick layer of memory foam. I just hope I did the right thing. Kept the old mattress though, just in case we don’t find it comfy within the net 30 days. Thanks for any input.

You really need at least the 30 days to get used to a new mattress, of any kind.
Felt great, knocked you out, and slept through the night? Sounds like a pretty good combination to me. Back pain is not always a mattress. Mattresses cannot fix back problems and it sounded like stiffness was the only real issue. A quality air bed like you bought should be giving your back more than adequate support and comfort, so hang in there. I would bet a chocolate milkshake the mattress would have little to do with your stiffness.
Adjusting the firmness constantly is like getting a new mattress so find a setting you like and leave it be, otherwise it could take another 30 days to adjust.
Lastly, don’t dwell on this, two days and trying to determine the outcome is much like watching the stock market everyday. You can keep yourself awake at night. No pun intended.http://www.stlbeds.com/
