One Side Of Bed Causing Horrible Back Pain?
Lately my fiance has been complaining about her back hurting when she sleeps on our bed. So being the curious individual I am and being my side of the bed so unbelievably comfy we switched sides for a night. When waking up in the morning my back is in some sicking pain towards the top of my shoulder blades and it feels like my sinus are rather heavy almost like I am laying with my feet above my head.
I got out the level and check the frame and then laid a heavy book on top of that side of the bed and checked the level of the bed and everything is more or less perfect.
So my question is what would cause something like this and how would we go about fixing it without spending too much money.
Notes: Our bed it made up of 4″ of memory foam onto then springs on the bellow that, it is a CalKing, and sits on two separate box mattresses.
any help would be greatly appreciated ![]()
Thanks!

Her side may be worn down a little more than your side. Maybe you should start having sex on your side to even it out
Also try flipping your mattress. The best is to flip your mattress every 3 months and when you do, flip and rotate 180 degrees.
I would try to rotate/flip the bed around and see if you get any better results. Try this with the mattress and the box springs. If there are springs broken in the box spring or the mattress, then when you rotate it, the broken springs would be at your feet where your body is putting less pressure so it wouldn’t be noticeable.
Mattress and box springs wear out over time. Or you may need to flip or rotate more frequently.
See the link below for info on mattresses.
Maybe a spring loose!
The box spring can also give you a lot of problems, not just the mattress. I had the same problem before we threw down $2000 and bought a new set.
In the meantime, you can take a piece of plywood about 2 x 3 wide and place it under that side where her back is. It will firm up the mattress so that it does not sag as much into the box-spring at night.
Get a tempurpedic pillow that has a curve in it. It will keep her neck from sagging down into the mattress as well. bad neck position leads to pain between the shoulder blades. I know from experience.
It’s a temporary fix until you can get a new set, but it should work for the time being.
