Visco Elastic Foam Mattress

I’ve been looking around for a mattress topper and saw the tempsoma one at Sam’s Club for $179…I went online and saw two out of three reviews didn’t like it because it was ‘too hot’. I went to a mattress store to ask, and they didn’t have any toppers, but the guy recommended tempur-pedic. I looked online and see that is $532…which is way too much IMHO for a topper. So, is there a place online that reviews them, or what personal experience do you all have? I’m kind of leaning toward a memory foam type, but if you prefer another kind, please let me know why. I was told I could remove and wash the cover to the mattress and when I unzipped the mattress cover I found that it was glued to the rest of the memory foam below! So I have the 3 inch foam pad (which the cover is sewn in/onto and then that is wrapped in a netting and then the netting is glued onto the memory foam below! So I’m not sure how to remove and wash the cover (which is cashmere I guess).

They have these at K-Mart and Wal-mart. Does anyone own one of these? How are they. Please state if you have a coiled or the memory foam.

So i’ve had a new mattress for about a year now, and since I got it I’ve had a big problem with one of our housecats. For some strange reason she sees fit to pee on my bed from time to time. It’s odd behavior for her considering ever since we’ve had her in the house I’ve never known her to go anywhere but the litterbox. At first i just assumed she wasnt used to the mattress since it was new and she was trying to be territorial, but its gotten alot more frequent lately. I love the cat to death honestly, but its getting to be a big nuisance. I can’t just shut my door to keep her out cause my room is in the back of the house and it’s constantly burning up, but im tired of smelling cat urine (which smells like burnt peanut butter to me…) I’ve had the good fortune of the urine just soaking into my comforter and sheets and barely grazing the top of my memory foam. I can get it out of the foam easily with stain and odor removers, but im not feeling up to replacing the whole set of sheets again anytime soon. Just the other day we had a new cat in the room, and of course, earlier today i found a moist surprise on my bed. I really hate keeping her out of my room since she’s a really loving cat, but its just gotten to be too much, and i’d really like to know any safe idea’s to keep a cat out of a certain room. I would go with mothballs but we’ve got a small dog who tries to eat anything on the floor so that eliminates that solution. Also, does anybody know any good ways to remove the stink of cat urine? I’d really appriciate any kind of home made remedies. And its not like i can just throw the mattress out, i dont have that kind of money to burn. But thanks a bunch in advance.
